    BetterYield

Chainlink-Powered AI for Onchain Yield Boost

    Demo

    About

The problem it solves 1. **Users Think They’re Earning, but Often Earn Nothing** **Problem:** Most DeFi users assume they’re earning passive income by joining LP vaults that display 20–200% APR. But in reality, due to impermanent loss, vault misalignment, or price drift, their actual yield is near-zero or even negative. **Solution**: BetterYield AI continuously evaluates vault health, APR integrity, and net yield outcomes — alerting users before the damage is done, not after. 2. **Vaults Don’t Warn When You’re Out of Range** **Problem**: In Uniswap V3-style vaults, users only earn fees when liquidity is within a specific price range. But users are rarely notified when price drifts beyond range — meaning their funds sit idle, earning zero. **Solution**: BetterYield AI monitors tick ranges in real-time and alerts users to rebalance into vaults with similar risk exposure but higher yield availability. 3. **Impermanent Loss is Invisible Until It’s Too Late** **Problem**: Token price divergence leads to impermanent loss, often wiping out gains from fees. Most vaults don’t show this erosion until users withdraw. **Solution**: BetterYield AI simulates impermanent loss continuously, showing IL projections side-by-side with yield accumulation, so users can act before loss outweighs gain. 4. **APR is a Tease — Not Real, Not Reliable** **Problem**: Vault APRs often reflect short-term anomalies, not sustained performance. Chasing high APRs often leads to poor results when those rates vanish. **Solution**: BetterYield AI filters vaults based on historical volatility, real fee accumulation, and LP distribution — delivering vaults with consistently better net yield. 5.** No Help for When to Exit or Rebalance** **Problem**: Users don’t know when to reallocate. Most DeFi vaults don’t offer any exit signals, causing users to hold unproductive positions for too long. **Solution**: BetterYield AI combines price tick analytics with Chainlink Data Feeds to detect timing windows for optimal rebalancing — across pools with similar parameters. 6. **One-Size-Fits-All Vaults = Misfit Results** Problem: Most vaults ignore user profiles. High-risk vaults are shown to low-capital users, or short-term users are sent to long-horizon pools. **Solution**: BetterYield AI adjusts vault recommendations based on user intent, capital size, and time horizon — acting more like a fund manager than a vault board.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into 1. **Syncing Real-Time Price Ticks for Rebalancing** We struggled to stream accurate Uniswap V3 price ticks in real-time and align them with vault rebalancing logic. This caused delays and inaccurate APR projections early in development. **Solved by:** integrating Chainlink Data Streams for faster price data and using Functions to call external LP APIs on demand. 2. **Simulating Real APR vs Display APR** Users are often misled by high APR displays that don’t reflect actual yield. Calculating net yield after IL (impermanent loss), fees, and position drift was complex. **Solved by**: building a custom APR/Yield simulator powered by our vault's tick range performance and backtesting data. 3. **Frontend Re-render Errors (React Hook Order)** Our first UI broke due to inconsistent hook usage when fetching wallet and tick data. **Solved by**: modularizing hook usage, adding Zustand for state control, and testing rigorously on Vercel with test wallets. 4. **Chainlink Automation Timeouts** Our first implementation of auto-rebalancing via Chainlink Automation exceeded gas limits and failed on Sepolia. **Solved by**: restructuring vault triggers into multi-step jobs and adding proof conditions via Functions + Automation combo. 5. **Education Gap on “Why Range Matters”** Many users didn’t understand how Uniswap V3 price ranges affected their profits. **Solved by**: adding inline APR vs. net yield comparisons in the UI, backed by educational tooltips and simulated impact.
