Why are you participating for Based LatAm? I’m participating for LatAm because I believe blockchain technology can significantly empower communities across the region. In LatAm, digital transactions are becoming essential as more people seek alternatives to traditional financial systems. With Base's low-cost transactions and decentralized nature, we can create more accessible tools for everyone, especially for those who need affordable financial solutions.
How it's made
What challenges are you focusing on? One of the main challenges in LatAm is the high cost of financial transactions and limited access to secure and transparent systems. Many individuals, especially content creators and service providers, face difficulties receiving small payments due to high fees and lack of trust in centralized platforms. How does your submission address this challenge? BaseTip Lite allows users to send and receive micro-tips on the Base blockchain with minimal fees, bypassing intermediaries. By leveraging blockchain’s transparency and decentralization, users can engage in small-value transactions securely and without losing money to high fees. This helps creators, freelancers, and anyone offering services online in LatAm by making micro-payments more feasible and accessible. Challenges we ran into One of the challenges I faced was ensuring that the dApp remained user-friendly while integrating with blockchain tools like MetaMask and Web3. Managing gas fees and ensuring transactions went through smoothly on the test network required significant troubleshooting. I overcame this by using Base's testnet to optimize contract deployment and testing various edge cases in the frontend.
