Based Minecraft
Bring any Minecraft server onchain
Demo
About
The problem it solves It gives minecraft developers the tools to bring their server onchain. The goal here is to onboard as many people as possible to base with minecraft, here's why. we are trying to capture a large percentage of the Minecraft playerbase, which currently has 200 million monthly users and an extremely flourishing developer community. What we built to achieve that is a simple method for any Minecraft server to launch their own token and use it to tokenize their own Minecraft servers. For a year we built out a single Minecraft server which was extremely successful - it onboarded 2000 users (unique Minecraft accounts as KPI) and had consistent protocol revenue with an extremely promising ingame economy longevity solution for all (even offchain) Minecraft servers. Last year we onboarded 1800 people to base with minecraft, and that was with a single minecraft server! All the while an entire Minecraft server hosting industry has been taken over by large corporations who build revenue models centralized around predatory marketing tactics aimed (primarily) towards a young audience. You, right now, cannot find a minecraft server that does not sell their endgame content to make a quick buck - In addition the minecraft industry is one rampant with fraud and abuse - server hosts can find themselves quickly indebted or debanked by false chargebacks via traditional monetization routes. Based Minecraft allows server hosts to explore the option of tokenizing their in-game currency on the base blockchain, our homepage server list also helps aggregate their new server to other crypto users Once a server is set up, their ingame currency can be traded on a bonding curve for real tokens on the base chain, here is an example of their ingame balances from minecraft
How it's made
Challenges we ran into Funny you mention it, I made the primary main function with a single minecraft server but when I added a second one this broke so many things down the line. Getting this stack to where it is now is something that I'm truly proud of!
