About
The problem it solves **The Problem It Solves** Hiring and finding work shouldn’t be this hard. Right now companies jump between job boards, agencies, and social posts just to find the right people. On the other side, freelancers deal with high fees, scattered opportunities, and the risk of not getting paid on time. Both sides lose time, money, and momentum specially in Web3. **What People Can Use It For** - Companies can post campaigns or gigs and instantly reach the right talent. - Freelancers get a single profile to apply anywhere and start earning without middlemen taking big cuts. - Communities can launch campaigns that activate their members in a clear and trackable way. **How It Makes Things Easier and Safer** - Everything’s in one place, no more hunting across multiple platforms. - No reward cuts for talents, but we make our revenue from partners' listings. - Verified listings so freelancers know they’ll actually get rewarded. - Faster turnaround for companies that need people right away. - Partners or Gig sponsors are able to set a fix reward budget, while the submissions from different talents are unlimited. From paying an uncertain output to now having a controlled budget with the benefit of having to pick the best submission. In short, it’s about making talent and opportunities meet each other instantly, without the usual friction. **User Flow** Sign up - Choose role: Sponsor or Talent Sponsor - List gigs with reward, mechanics, and timeline - Review submissions and select winners - Release rewards - Benefit from the campaign results (Awareness, Acquisition, Bounties, Hackathons, etc.) Talent - Browse and join any gig - Submit entries based on mechanics - Get rewarded once approved - Build their BasedGigs Portfolio Smart Contract Address(es) https://base-sepolia.blockscout.com/address/0x62cdcd96036fE5A55021D142cd38b301429b9642?tab=contract Other Onchain Proof
How it's made
Challenges we ran into User Growth Explosion - We underestimated demand. Our 3-month target of 1K users was hit on day one after our CMO’s videos went viral (3M+ views). - This led to database bottlenecks, email limits, and scaling issues. - We solved it by upgrading infra the same day, while simultaneously handling community reports and feedback. The community stayed supportive, and participation kept climbing. High Cost of Privy - At 20K users in our first month, Privy forced us into an enterprise plan that was unsustainable. - To cut costs, we rebuilt our credential infrastructure so we weren’t fully dependent on Privy. - This brought our user management cost close to zero while keeping the same smooth, web2-like login flow with onchain capability in the background. Talent Credit System - Users quickly exhausted their gig submission credits and demanded more. - We adjusted the system: increased credits but kept limits to prevent spam and maintain submission quality. Gig Supply & Partnerships - Talents wanted more gigs than we had at launch. - We started onboarding organizations and companies with free trial listings to fill the pipeline. - Results spoke for themselves: - A partner with just $200 budget got 1.4K+ submissions and a big jump in awareness. - Another with $500 for UGC saw 140+ authentic videos instead of paying 1–3 creators at higher cost and risk. **Outcome** Every hurdle forced us to be more resourceful. The result was stronger infra, lower burn, better user experience, and clear proof that BasedGigs delivers win-win opportunities for both talents and sponsors.
