About
The problem it solves Base Buddies solves the problem of onchain apps often feeling isolated, transactional, and intimidating for everyday people. Instead of limiting users to passive asset holding, it makes the onchain experience fun, social, and rewarding. By gamifying engagement and lowering the barrier to entry, it encourages community growth while ensuring users have real ownership of their rewards. This combination of social interaction, fair incentives, and onchain security makes tasks easier, safer, and far more engaging than traditional apps. Smart Contract Address(es) 0xB7F8aCc3a0Ef2c2D1C6FeeD00E6cdfAE8bF66529 Other Onchain Proof To show that Base Buddies has real traction, I’ve tracked activity on my smart contract address. This includes events emitted when users interact with the app: [https://sepolia.basescan.org/address/0xB7F8aCc3a0Ef2c2D1C6FeeD00E6cdfAE8bF66529#events](url) Additionally, I’ve captured a dashboard screenshot from my Base Buddies management board showing engagement metrics across users. Note: the screenshot is illustrative (edited for clarity), but the underlying onchain contract events are verifiable and can be checked directly on Base. These pieces of evidence together demonstrate that the app is live, interacting with users, and generating measurable activity onchain.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into One of the main hurdles I faced was setting up the manifest correctly and making sure it worked properly across different devices and environments. The process was a bit tricky because some parts of the configuration failed at one stage while others failed at a completely different stage, which made debugging confusing. For example, ensuring the accountAssociation values matched exactly and that the manifest was served consistently across devices required a lot of trial and error. I eventually overcame this by carefully validating the environment variables, testing the JSON responses directly in the browser with tools like curl, and cross-checking the setup on multiple devices to make sure it behaved the same everywhere.
