About
The problem it solves ## The Problem Traditional rotating savings (known as "arisan" in Indonesia) is a widespread informal financial practice across Southeast Asia, but it suffers from fundamental issues: Trust Failure —> The entire system relies on social trust. When one participant defaults or disappears, everyone in the pool loses money. There's no protection or recourse. Zero Yield —> Collected funds sit idle for months while modern DeFi protocols generate continuous returns. This represents massive opportunity cost for participants. No Transparency —> Contribution records and payout schedules are managed through WhatsApp screenshots and verbal agreements. Disputes are common and unresolvable. Cannot Scale —> Without enforcement mechanisms, arisan only works among close friends and family. Expanding to strangers dramatically increases default risk. --- ## How Armina Solves This 125% Collateral Enforcement —> Every participant locks collateral upfront. Defaults are impossible because the smart contract automatically deducts from collateral. AI-Powered Yield —> Idle funds are automatically deployed to DeFi lending protocols, generating passive yield for all participants. Full On-Chain Transparency —> Every contribution, payout, and winner selection is recorded on Base blockchain. Fully auditable and trustless. Scalable by Design —> Smart contract rules replace social trust. Anyone can join pools with strangers safely. --- Built on Base with Coinbase Smart Wallet, Privy authentication, MiniKit and OnchainKit integration.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into 1. Mobile Wallet Connection Coinbase Smart Wallet didn't work on mobile browsers without extensions. → Fixed by adding Privy (Email/Google login) with embedded wallets. 2. Next.js 16 + Vercel Deployment Build failed due to Turbopack vs webpack config conflict. → Switched to native Turbopack configuration. 3. 125% Collateral Formula Balancing security vs usability for upfront capital requirement. → Formula: 125% × (Participants × Contribution) covers obligation + buffer. 4. SSL Issues on Android keys.coinbase.com showed certificate errors on some mobile browsers. → Made Privy primary login, Coinbase Wallet secondary.
